Stored value is what is written on every inspection point, so it cannot be renamed — a record already saved as replace would stop resolving. Label, colour, meaning and order are yours to change.

New structure

How the drawing must be prepared

Every closed region in the file becomes a plate the inspector is asked to judge. The processing cannot tell a wear plate from a bolt hole or a beam in section.

  • Remove extra views. Sections, elevations and installation detail. In the PoC drawing these produced 298 of the 425 detected regions.
  • Remove structural steel, title blocks, borders and revision tables.
  • Close every plate contour. An open contour is not detected. Gaps under 0.5 units are snapped shut.
  • Put the plates on their own layer. Anything on a layer named in FAM2_DXF_IGNORE_LAYERS, or on Defpoints, is skipped.
  • One piece of equipment per file. A chute's three walls belong together; two chutes do not.

After processing, compare the plate count with the real equipment. A count two or three times higher means something is still in the file.
